By owning the loan operations and connecting that data directly to our fund accounting workflows, we can deliver a far superior experience for an asset class that has largely been ignored by software providers.

Today we announced the newest addition to Carta’s product suite: Carta Loan Operations, built for private credit firms navigating the complexity of loan administration workflows. Carta Loan Operations comes as a result of our acquisition of Sirvatus, a leading loan administration platform for private credit funds.

Over the past year, we’ve been working hard to expand our ERP for private capital to other asset classes. What we’ve discovered is that while there are obviously specific nuances for different asset classes, our same principle  largely holds across asset classes—connecting underlying asset data (cap tables for VCs and PE firms) to our fund accounting (industry agnostic)  and reporting (custom by client) to provide a more detailed, real-time experience for CFOs.

When we started looking at ways to serve private credit funds, we discovered that in many ways, loan operations and admin are to credit funds what portfolio company cap table and KPI data are to VC and PE firms. And by owning the loan operations and connecting that data directly to our fund accounting workflows, we can deliver a far superior experience for an asset class that has largely been ignored by software providers.

With the addition of Carta Loan Operations, Carta will offer:

  • Native support for complex structures: Bespoke deal terms like cash sweeps, PIK toggles, unitranche loans, and amendments can be ingested directly from loan agreements in a purpose-built system.

  • Automated loan tracking: Real-time dashboards display current loan positions, payment schedules, interest rates, loan and portfolio-level returns modeling and compliance status.

  • Integrated accounting and reconciliation: Fund accounting updates instantly with every loan transaction, eliminating manual data entry and reconciliation.

  • Seamless investor reporting: Institutional investors receive transparent, timely performance data and customizable reports through Carta’s consolidated LP Portal.

  • Scalable, audit-ready infrastructure: Built to support funds of all sizes, these automated workflows ensure accuracy and streamline audits.

Loan Operations marks our first product specifically catered for the private credit industry, but will by no means be our last. Much like our acquisition of Accelex and launch of LP Portfolio Analytics are making LPs a first-order citizen for us, the acquisition of Sirvatus is step one on a long journey for servicing the private credit community. These moves bring us one step closer to our mission of building the definitive system of record for the private markets—one that connects every workflow on a single integrated platform and serves as the indispensable infrastructure of a bold and dynamic private markets ecosystem.
