At Carta, we’re building tools that empower companies to make smarter, more informed decisions at every stage of their growth. Compensation is one of the most critical—yet complex—levers a company can use to attract and retain talent.
That’s why Carta Total Compensation exists: to provide industry-leading benchmark data that removes the guesswork and brings clarity and confidence to compensation decisions.
And now, through an expanded partnership with Sequoia Group, we’re scaling Carta’s actionable compensation intelligence even more broadly across the private capital markets.
What’s new: Carta + Sequoia, evolved
For years, customers of Sequoia’s CompOS platform have been able to access Carta Total Comp benchmarks in the Sequoia platform, integrating the compensation planning workflow with the data that leaders need to make informed decisions. Today, we’re proud to announce that we are deepening this partnership even further.
As part of this expanded collaboration, Carta will generate bespoke, tailored data sets from the Total Compensation platform for Sequoia clients that are looking for specific guidance around their compensation strategy. These custom data cuts will empower Sequoia’s compensation advisors to provide even more personalized advice to growth-stage companies that are building forward-thinking compensation strategies.
All data shared with Sequoia is anonymized and aggregated, with strict guidelines around sample size to ensure customer data is fully protected and remains confidential.
For all current and future Carta customers, the Total Compensation platform remains unchanged—all existing features, including benchmark data by role, geography, and company stage, are fully accessible and available to users.
Why this partnership matters
At its heart, the Carta-Sequoia partnership is about delivering better outcomes for founders, operators, and teams navigating the fast-evolving labor market.
By combining the private market’s most comprehensive comp dataset with Sequoia’s compensation advisory services, we’ll enable thousands more companies to create smarter, fairer compensation programs—and ultimately build better workplaces. We’re honored to expand our collaboration with Sequoia to better serve our customers.
