Nick Avery
Chief People Officer

Nick Avery is the Chief People Officer at Carta, where he oversees the company’s global People & Culture strategy. He is responsible for elevating employee experience, driving talent density, and building the infrastructure needed for a world-class People organization. Nick partners closely with Carta’s leadership to foster a high-performing, inclusive, and values-driven environment, enabling the company’s continued growth and innovation.
Prior to joining Carta, Nick spent 7.5 years at BlackRock, where he was Managing Director and Global Head of Talent Management and also Head of Human Resources for Asia Pacific. Nick has previously held senior People and Culture leadership roles in a range of industries including aviation, consumer goods, consulting and finance in a career spanning more than 25 years across North America, Asia & Australia.
Nick holds a MAppSc in Organization Dynamics from RMIT University, a BA in Economics from The University of Queensland and a BBus in Human Resources Management from Queensland University of Technology.
