How do I know if my company qualifies for EMI?
An EMI-qualifying company must meet several criteria at the time of an EMI option grant, including having fewer than 250 full-time employees (increasing to 500 employees for options granted on or after 6 April 2026), no more than £30 million in gross assets (rising to £120 million for options granted on or after 6 April 2026), and a permanent establishment in the UK.
